A commission from one of the beautiful ladies at La Corte de la Rosa. <3

Kitty while she still had Henry wrapped around her little finger. =)
Her dress was a great chance for me to finally try out my red glitter felt and practice my embroidery daisies some more.
But the highpoint of this doll is the crown of flowers. <3
It took forever to make, but well worth the time!

Back view just to show how the flowers were worked into the crown all the way around.

And I don't say this very often, but I loved her sleeves. =)
Lattice work terrifies me plenty at a regular scale, so I wasn't even going to think about trying it at doll size. Nevertheless, some puffing and ruching later, I'm pretty pleased with them.

I should have specified I meant the real, historical, Kitty, as I stopped properly seeing the series by season 1.

Well, it will depend on what you like, really, as we have a bit of everything.
For natural beauty and AMAZING food (if you eat fish and meat), Azores (although I may be biased as I grew up there and love it).
The Northeast is also very beautiful, but it's a more rugged, mountan-y beauty.
I've found these 2 regions to have the most welcoming people yet. (But the rest of the country is also very foreigner-friendly and most people can scratch a bit of English, so no worries there.)
Coimbra, my home now, is an University city with the richest Academic History in the country, so plenty of young people and nice cafes with tables laid out in the sun. It used to have a decent nightlife in my wild days. ;) Although, if you're into that sort of thing, come here in May. =D It's the biggest Academic festival of the year with the city partying for a week with concerts, parades, ceremonies, etc.
The South, Algarve, is a big tourist attraction because of the beaches. They're ok (but I'd rather have the Azorean sea...) but it doesn't have much else of interest there, imo.
Alentejo is, once again, a different type of beauty. Think of huge fields peppered with olive trees here and there. No houses or people for long stretches of time, and, then, picturesque little villages in white and blue.
If you prefer cultural events, then it's Lisbon. *snarls* Everything seems to stop in our capital (we have a grumbling popular saying that goes: Portugal is Lisbon, the rest is just sightseeing.).
All around good food, with each region having its own rich gastronomical tradition, good weather and nice people, if I may say so myself. ;D
And I've scared you off, haven't i?...

As far as traditional food goes, though, you're pretty much stuck with desserts, I'm afraid. =D But don't worry! There are plenty of those to go around!
