I can't even begin to tell you how thrilled I was when F., of my delightful Corte de la Rosa, asked me for this couple!
Gone With the Wind is one of my all time favorite books/movies and Scarlett is my personal heroine, so it gave me great pleasure to make these.

Rhett is pretty much the standard of male victorian fashion I love so much. <3

But my Scarlett is as ingenious as the spirit behind the story's curtain dress was! =D
Although I have a previous version of this doll in my early repertoire, I now winged most of the details with materials I didn't have back then.
And please believe me when I say she's twice as adorable as my poor photography skill portrays her here! <3<3<3

How lovely! You did a wonderful job! GWTW is a huge deal for me. It is my mother's favorite movie and book, mine as well. The first time I saw the film was when I was 14, and home video was still several years away. We lived in Houston TX, and every year the River Oaks Theatre, a completely, historically restored Victorian theatre located in the mansion district, did a weekend of showings of the movie. The ambience, the movie, the excitement, the entire experience made a huge impact on me. You've no idea how much I want a set of these dolls! They are truly beautiful.

=D Thank you so much, darling!
I've never seen it on the cinema, but, when I was little, I remember seeing it back to back several times a day to teh point the poor video tape got burning hot! It's an amazing movie!
Eheheh! I wonder what it says about me that I think this is one of the most impressive love stories of all times... ;D

OMG! Gone With the Wind ranks as one of my favorite all-time classic movies! These are awesome...I especially love the brilliant green sequins of Scarlett's eyes to match her 'drapery' dress. :P

:D Thank you!
Mine as well! It's such an amazing story and the movie did the most incredible job at recreating it! I think it's one of if not THE best adaptation ever made!
=) I usually prefer my doll with black eyes, but I simply couldn't give lil' Katie anything other than her green eyes. <3

=D Thank you!
In true homage to the story, the gold trim on the hat veil, belt and shoulder decor were made with actual curtain trim! =D

The way you pay attention to details is endless. LOVE this new GWTW power couple à la Deri.

By any chance, are the Wizard of OZ characters on your radar? Ever hopeful.

Hugs to you.

=D Thank you! They are 2 of my favorite characters of all time, so I tried extra hard to capture them.

I had an Oz set in my mind a long time ago, yes, (the Tin Man would be an amazing challenge!) but my current state of booked orders makes personal sets of dolls an impossibility for the time being. Maybe in the future. =) My personal to-make list is as long as my arm and has the nasty habit of growing when I'm not looking...

(I'm probably going to add a pair of these to my order!)
