William and Mary
Their inspiration was this gorgeous painting celebrating their bethrothal by van Dyck.
There is plenty to see of this adorable couple, so keep scrolling!
Isn't she cute? *hugs* This is the best photo I have of her hairpin, but it's a simple pearl medallion, just in case.
Besides the embroidery, the decorations in her gown are just a strass bead and silver crochet yarn for the belt and bows.
As you can see, the back of her dress is also embroidered with my faithful chain stitch in silver.
Her curls were made in my usual method of wet and heat and they have a bit of bounciness to them.
Although I used the same lace for both the dolls, I displayed it differently. Mary got the lace on her collar and sleeves sewn over the felt base for a more girly look.
And, as you can see, I gave her a tiny wedding band. <3
Little William's accessories are removable. The detached glove is secured with a pin and he can wear his flashy hat if he pleases.
Again, forgot a sideways photo, but his calves are sporting cute little organza ribbon bows.
I played a bit with the glove's shape. It added a couple of millimeters to his left arm in comparison with his right, but it was a small enough difference I deemed it acceptable. =)
Close-up of his jerkin where you can see the felt colar with the lace peeking from under it.
Peeking through the slashes is organza ribbon and his french knot button were made with read thread with a bit of gold added to the mix.
