September was hellish on several fronts and I rather not dwell on them, so let's move on and present some long overdue dolls.
First, a special order from the wonderful P.
She asked for a doll of her father in a very particular costume, that of a Philadelphia Mummer: http://www.brokenteepee.com/2010/05/bef
And here's the doll version of that photo!
Oh, boy! It wasn't an easy job!
The mummer costume was heavily decorated (P. said there wasn't an inch of it without sequins!), so I had to balance that with how much the doll's size could take without being buried in it.
To lessen the pressure on my poor fingers, nothing is removable, not even the glasses.
The back is equally decorated with stitching, petals and beads, the works!
P. said the beer was a must-have, so I did a tiny beer can and tried my best at embroidering a "Bud" on it.
