Renaissance fashion is my first love, but even that can hurt sometimes.
This next doll was an order from the lovely F., in the Netherlands, and is simply adorable, but it meant all sorts of trouble as well.
Meet Paula, the name I gave Pollaiuolo's Lady since his name is too much of a tongue-twister for me. :)
Ears were a must, even if they ended up covered in organza.
And I'm still smitten by the tiny pearls I got. <3 I had to resort to online-bought pearls because my usual supplier stopped having white pearls and the cream ones flake A LOT. Although these get a bit more costly because of the shipping, they're wonderful and the perfect scale for my babies.
And here's where all hell broke loose. Her hairdo had so many versions and tries it still isn't funny to remember. To sew all day just to undo it ALL at the end of the day was heartbreaking, but I stuck to my guns and kept trying until I was happy.
She now has the honour of my most complex hairdo to date. :)
The inside of the sleeve is simpler, just with the middle grid embroidered, but I gave the outside a bit of extra oomph!
